Outsourcing – Are You Ready?

In a couple short months I will be celebrating 3 years in business and I’m so honored and excited to be able to do that. One of the major things I’ve learned in almost 3 years of being a business owner is that some clients / potential clients just aren’t ready for the next step: outsourcing their marketing efforts. Outsourcing is a major decision, especially for small business owners who live and breathe their brand. It takes guts but most of all it takes trust.

There are a few barriers to overcome when considering outsourcing your digital marketing:

1: Do you know your brand’s message? I mean, really know your brands message so well that you can teach it to someone else? Or are you constantly changing your services reaching for every opportunity that could fit under your umbrella?

2. Do you have a marketing budget? If so, do you have room to move internet, mainly social media, marketing into that budget? If you are banking on the fact that marketing will make you money so you can afford the marketing, then you might want to wait until you have a marketing budget that you’re ready to let go of. Remember, marketing and selling are two different things – especially in the digital world.

3. Are you ‘ok’ with someone else being you? Good Digital Marketers do everything they can to learn your brand’s message including voice, tone, keywords, and more; but, there is no way possible for us to ever be you. Because of this, you have to be ok if a message isn’t relayed exactly the way you would have done it. Letting go of control is necessary for outsourcing marketing.

In summary, some clients just aren’t ready – and that’s totally ok. We get it. If you’re business isn’t ready there are always training opportunities. Coming up in June, we have partnered with The Medina County Women’s Journal to teach a social media workshop. It’s cost effective and loaded with great information you can implement right away. We also offer in-house training and consulting. We are more than happy to come to your place of business, get the feel of the organization, and teach you how to use social media for your brand.

And when you’re ready, we will be happy to take a look and see how we can help ease your workload. Do you think you’re ready to let go of the social media everyday grind? We’d love to have a chat to see how we can help.
